The Borough is governed by a seven member Council and Mayor. Council meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 7pm in the Borough Building. Work Sessions will be held the forth Wednesday of each month. The public is welcome to attend.

. Failure to keep up quarterly payments will result in service being disrupted. All residents are required by Ordinance to participate in Lakeland’s collection services. If you have large items to dispose of please call the contractor in advance.

Please put out trash receptacles after dusk Thursday evening for Friday a.m. pick-up and as required by Ordinance, bring your empty cans in promptly.

Recycling containers are provided to residents free of charge. Call the office if you need containers. Food container plastics, aluminum and steel cans, and clear and colored glass can be all co-mingled in the large round containers. Newspapers, magazines and telephone books can also be co-mingled in the rectangular bins. Cardboard can be dropped off in the dumpster behind the Borough building. Read more for information on hard to recycle items.

The Borough has several boards and committees that offer opportunities to serve your community: the Planning Commission, Board of Health, Abington Area Joint Recreation Board, Abington Regional Wastewater Authority, Shade Tree Committee and the Zoning Hearing Board are all manned by resident volunteers. Length of terms vary.
